Is the Grand Hyatt Seattle worth it?
Yes, especially if you can catch a deal on a suite. The Emerald Suite is a spacious roughly 823 square feet, with a separate living area, a king bedroom, a luxurious bathroom, and stunning views of the Seattle skyline and Puget Sound. The location, less than a mile from Pike Place Market and right by the convention center, makes it a fantastic base for exploring downtown.
The living area
Step in and you have your own separate living room, complete with a couch and two seating chairs that look out over the city skyline and the convention center. If you are in town for a conference, that view (and proximity) is a real plus. There is a TV and a refrigerator here too, handy for leftovers, though note there is no microwave in the room.
The master suite
A short hallway leads to the showstopper: the master suite. The sweeping views continue here, including a desk and workspace with a skyline view, so if you bring work on the road, you have got the motivation built right in. The bedroom has a king-size bed, another lounge chair, and a TV for unwinding after a busy day. Off to the side you will find space to hang clothes, a luggage rack, and a coffee and tea station with complimentary coffee and tea.
The bathroom
The bathroom is where this suite earns its keep. There is a deep soaking tub (big enough that Aaron could actually fit in it), a separate shower if a bath is not your thing, a full vanity with amenities, and a separate powder room. It is a genuinely luxurious setup.
The views (and the location)
The best part is saved for last: the windows. From the suite you look straight out at the Puget Sound. And the location is unbeatable, in less than a mile you can walk to Pike Place Market, with Westlake Center right there too. You are close to everything you could want downtown, and because it is Seattle, you are never more than a block from a great coffee shop.

Watch for a suite deal. We got the Emerald Suite at a great rate, so keep an eye out for promotions.
Request a high floor for the views. The skyline and Puget Sound views are the whole point.
Pack snacks you do not need to heat. There is a fridge but no microwave in the room.
Use it as a downtown base. You can walk to Pike Place Market and more.
